  • 1 burdock root (wash well, cut into 3cm length pieces, cut it into 4 equal parts lengthwise)
  • 1 carrot (peeled, cut it about the same size as burdock root)
  • 1 handful dried bonito flakes (about 3~4 g)
  • 3 tbsp sake
  • 2 tbsp mirin
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • soy sauce (optional)
