Ingredients: Vegetable Chutney

  • 1 bunch Cilantro
  • 1/2 Tomato
  • 1 Green Chili
  • 1 clove Garlic
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1/4 tsp Salt (or more as needed)

How to Make Vegetable Chutney

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 8 steps you must follow to make Vegetable Chutney in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Wash the cilantro. Excluding the harder stems, roughly chop the rest into small pieces.
  • Step 2
  • Cut the tomato into chunks. Since we will be using a blender later, it's okay if it's just roughly done.
  • Step 3
  • Combine the Step 1 & 2 ingredients into a pot.
  • Step 4
  • Cover with a lid and cook until the tomatoes have cooked. If you use high heat, it won't even take 10 minutes.
  • Step 5
  • You could also use red chili peppers in place of green chili pepper. Cook it in a little bit of oil to enhance their flavor.
  • Step 6
  • Add the green chili, garlic, cumin seeds, and salt to the cilantro and tomatoes, and then place in the blender to blend.
  • Step 7
  • Absolutely use fresh garlic! The scent will be different. It will also taste good if you add a little bit of tamarind paste at this point!
  • Step 8
  • Done!
