  • 1 grated / sliced cheese of choice (I use Veganic brand, vegan soy-free)
  • Savoury Filling Combo Ideas
  • 1 Cheese, ham & pineapple
  • 1 Cooked chicken, cheese & pesto
  • 1 Cheese and pickle
  • 1 Cooked sausage, cheese & baked beans
  • 1 Cheese and tomato
  • 1 Cooked bacon, cheese & worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Cheese and pre-fried onions
  • 1 Cooked turkey, cheese and cranberry sauce
  • 1 Cheese, corned beef and coleslaw
  • 1 Cooked chicken, cheese and roasted peppers
  • 1 Tuna and cheese
  • 1 Chorizo, cheese, avocado and salsa
  • 1 Cheese & cooked sliced beetroot
  • 1 Cooked leftover mac & cheese
  • 1 Chips / Fries & cheese
  • 1 Cooked burger patty, tomato ketchup & cheese
  • Dessert fillings
  • 1 Canned fruit pie filling, cream cheese & powdered sugar
  • 1 Sliced strawberries & blueberries, cream cheese & powdered sugar
  • 1 Grated apple & raisins, cream cheese & powdered sugar, served with custard
  • 1 Sliced banana and nutella (omit the cheese)
  • 1 Peanut butter and jam (omit the cheese!)

  • Top with a generous layer of cheese then any other fillings you'd like to add. I also like to shake some Worcestershire sauce on before adding the cheese

  • Put the other slice of bread on top, buttered side up. Turn the heat on to medium
  • Step 5
  • Fry for 2 minutes until golden then flip, press down and fry another 2 minutes on the other side
  • Step 6
  • Let rest a minute before cutting into triangles and serve. Add chips / fries and a side salad for a satisfying lunch
  • Step 7
  • Anything that goes on a pizza will work in a toastie. Use different cheeses for different ingredients like a mexican cheese with chicken and roasted peppers, brie with turkey and cranberry sauce or goats cheese with parma ham and pear for a posh vibe!
  • Step 8
  • Dessert toasties are great served with custard or ice cream. Just mix the cream cheese with powdered sugar to taste then spoon a few tablespoons over the fruit filling
