  • 6 oz chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 4 egg yoilks
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 12 oz pound cake you can use a frozen one thawed ike a sarah lee pound cake works well

How to Make Viennese Torte

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 9 steps you must follow to make Viennese Torte in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • combine chocolate chips, butter and cream in saucepan heat to simmer to melt chocolate and butter mix well cool to lukewarm
  • Step 2
  • add egg yolks, vanilla and sugar beat until smooth
  • Step 3
  • chill until it is of spreading consistancy
  • Step 4
  • slice cake the horizontally into 6 layers
  • Step 5
  • spread chocolate filling between each layet and cover top and sides
  • Step 6
  • chill at least 2 hrs
  • Step 7
  • slice into thin slices
  • Step 8
  • NOTE
  • Step 9
  • This recipe is a passed down recipe from my grandmother we have been eating it this way for years BUT if you are concerned about undercooked egg yolks use the pasterized eggs!
