Ingredients: Walnut stir-fry Bok Choy

  • 1 medium size Bok Choy
  • 4 (or to taste) garlic cloves
  • 1 inch piece of fresh ginger
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • handful walnuts
  • to taste hot sauce
  • 1 Tbl. acid like vinegar, lemon juice (optional)
  • 2 Tbl. oil for stir-fry

How to Make Walnut stir-fry Bok Choy

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 9 steps you must follow to make Walnut stir-fry Bok Choy in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Clean your bok choy breaking off each stem and making sure tops and stalks are clean. Grit sucks!
  • Step 2
  • chop your bok choy into about 1 - 2 inch pieces
  • Step 3
  • Add oil to pan, set on medium high heat (I'm using sesame here, but any works)
  • Step 4
  • chop onion, garlic and ginger
  • Step 5
  • When pan is hot, add onion, garlic and ginger. Stir fry until onion is translucent, about 2 minutes
  • Step 6
  • Add bok choy to pan, stir all the time until wilted. Sometimes you have to add the thicker stems first, then add the tops after a couple minutes for even cooking.
  • Step 7
  • Once bok choy is wilted add walnuts
  • Step 8
  • Add salt and hot sauce, acid if using. Stir constantly until done, 3 minutes
  • Step 9
  • Serve. Shown here with a pan fried tenderized lightly breaded steak with pan gravy.
