  • salad/ first version
  • 1 tbsp olive oil, extra virgin
  • 1 1/2 cup yellow onion, finely diced
  • 2 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 medium red bell peppers, finely diced
  • 1/2 cup celery, chopped
  • 2 cup water
  • 1/4 tsp white pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cup quinoa
  • 1/2 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 10 kalamatta olives, sliced
  • parmesan cheese, grated ( optional )
  • salad/ second version. Use the ingredients from above adding these too
  • 1 lb medium shrimp, cleaned and shelled
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice

How to Make Warm Quinoa Salad

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 8 steps you must follow to make Warm Quinoa Salad in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • In a deep skillet heat oil over medium heat.
  • Step 2
  • Add onions, peppers and celery. Cook 4 minutes or until onions turn translucent.
  • Step 3
  • Add in garlic, salt and pepper. Cook 1 minute.
  • Step 4
  • Add in water and bring to a boil. Stir in quinoa and cover. Reduce heat to simmer and cook 15 minutes.
  • Step 5
  • Place into a large serving bowl and mix in parsley and olives. Top each serving with grated cheese if you prefer.
  • Step 6
  • Serve warm.
  • Step 7
  • For version two. This is so easy to change up. You will cook the recipe in the exact same manner. Just toss in uncooked shrimp when water comes to a boil before adding in quinoa. Cover and simmer the same way. Same timing. Toss in lemon zest and juice when adding in parsley and olives.
