  • Meat and Sauce
  • 3 lb Boneless Beef Roast - cut in 1 1/2" cubes
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 4 cup Red Enchilada Sauce
  • 3 cup Water
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • Thickener For Meat and Sauce
  • 1/3 cup Flour
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • Burrito Fixings
  • 1 Tortillas
  • 1 Refried Beans
  • 1 Grated Cheese
  • 1 Chopped Lettuce
  • 1 Chopped Tomatoes
  • 1 Chopped Onion
  • 1 Sliced Scallions
  • 1 Sour Cream
  • 1 Salsa or Hot Sauce

How to Make Wet Burritos

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 5 steps you must follow to make Wet Burritos in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • In a large pot, brown beef. Add sauce, water and salt. Simmer gently until tender, about 2 - 2 1/2 hours.
  • Step 2
  • Mix flour and water together until smooth. Strain into meat and sauce, stirring constantly until incorporated. Simmer until thickened, stirring occasionally.
  • Step 3
  • Heat tortillas. Heat beans if using.
  • Step 4
  • Now build your burrito! The ingredients I listed are what I use but you can add or subtract to your familys taste.
  • Step 5
  • To build the burrito in the picture - 1 warmed tortilla on plate, dab 1/2 cup beans down center of burrito. Top with cheese and some meat cubes. Roll burrito up snug like and top with a good drenching of the sauce. Sprinkle top with cheese. Add lettuce, tomato, onions and a dab of sour cream.
