  • 150 grams Dried fettuccine (or similar)
  • 1 Onion (sliced)
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 pinch Sugar
  • 1 pinch Dried basil
  • 1 pinch Chilli flakes
  • 100 ml Cream
  • 15 grams Grated parmesan
  • 1 pinch Freshly grated/ground nutmeg

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 6 steps you must follow to make What've I Got Fettuccine in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Put water for pasta on heat to boil. Once boiling salt well and add pasta.
  • Step 2
  • Heat some oil or butter (or both) in a small frying pan over a medium/low heat. Add onion with pinch of salt. After five minutes or so add the basil, sugar, and chilli.
  • Step 3
  • After the pasta has been put in the boiling water the onion should be soft. Add the cream to the frying pan and bring to a simmer, then reduce heat.
  • Step 4
  • When pasta has about 5 minutes left to cook add 2/3 of the parmesan to the sauce, stir to melt.
  • Step 5
  • When pasta is cooked transfer 2 tablespoons of the pasta water to the sauce before draining. Return (mostly) drained pasta to it's pan then toss through the sauce.
  • Step 6
  • Transfer to a warmed bowl and top with remaining parmesan and nutmeg.
