  • 6 tbsp butter
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 2 1/2 cup flour
  • 2 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 12 oz white cheddar, grated
  • 8 oz cooked ham, chopped
  • 3 oz crumbled blue cheese
  • 1/2 cup chopped sun-dried tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup caramelized onions
  • 4 slice cooked bacon, chopped
  • 1 lb macaroni, cooked al denti
  • 1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 1 salt
  • 1 pepper
  • 1 Tabasco sauce
  • 1 freshly grated nutmeg to taste

How to Make White Cheddar Macaroni & Cheese

    Step 1
  • Heat oven to 350. Heat butter in a 6-qt saucepan over medium heat. Add flour & cook, stirring until smooth; about 2 mins. Add milk & heavy cream. Simmer until thickened; about 2 mins. Remove from heat & stir in 3/4 of the cheddar & ham, blue cheese, tomatoes, onions, scallions & bacon. Season with salt & pepper, Tabasco & nutmeg. Stir in pasta. Transfer mixture to 9in x 13in baking dish. Sprinkle with remaining cheddar. Top with bread crumbs. Bake until golden brown; about 25 mins.
