Ingredients: Yo-Yo's

  • 1 1/4 cup self raising flour
  • 1/2 cup custard powder
  • 1/3 cup icing sugar
  • 180 grams butter
  • 60 grams butter extra
  • 1 cup icing sugar extra

How to Make Yo-Yo's

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 7 steps you must follow to make Yo-Yo's in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Pre-heat oven to 180c/350f. Add all dry ingredients in to bowl
  • Step 2
  • Soften butter in microwave if required (soft, not melting)
  • Step 3
  • Rub butter into dry ingredients with fingers until dough forms and no crumbs remain
  • Step 4
  • Roll dough into long snake and cut in to one inch rounds
  • Step 5
  • Place rounds on to tray lined with greaseproof paper and press with fork
  • Step 6
  • Bake for 15-20 mins until lightly browned. Remove from oven and cool on tray
  • Step 7
  • Mix extra butter and icing sugar with electric beaters and sandwich yo-yo's together
