  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 1/2 pounds beef
  • 1/4-1/2 cup fresh cilantro
  • 1/4 onion
  • 3 Tbsp oil
  • 1 Tbsp acid (lime, lemon juice or vinegar)
  • 4-5 cloves garlic
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1-2 inch piece of ginger
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • to taste hot sauce or hot peppers
  • 1 Tbsp Garam masala or curry powder

How to Make Yogurt Cilantro Beef Skewers

If you have prepared the ingredients needed, now time to start cooking. There are 7 steps you must follow to make Yogurt Cilantro Beef Skewers in your home by yourself.

    Step 1
  • Mix everything except the beef in a blender
  • Step 2
  • Slice your beef so it is about the same height as width. Mine are about 1/2 a side.
  • Step 3
  • Mix beef and marinade. I let mine marinate over night typically. So this is usually make a day ahead thing for me.
  • Step 4
  • About 1 hour before cooking, soak your bamboo skewers so they don't burn, if using.
  • Step 5
  • Place beef skewers so they will cook evenly. Leave space between pieces. I'm folding these in half because of their length
  • Step 6
  • Grill on a medium high heat turning as each side is done. For my pieces here, about 3 minutes a side
  • Step 7
  • Serve hot
